Weik.io Cloud
Object storage
Object storage in Weik.io Cloud keeps S3-compatible buckets in Helsinki for transfer destinations, archives and the backups of a self-hosted Weik.io, with Object Lock for copies that nobody can delete early.
What you get
Every bucket has:
- An S3-compatible address at
s3.weikio.cloudthat any S3 client and rclone accept - Access keys for each bucket, with read and write rights or read only
- Object Lock in compliance mode with the retention you set
- A remote that is ready in your workspace for transfers and backups

How it connects to Weik.io
Transfers write to a bucket through an S3 remote that Weik.io Cloud adds to your workspace, and the run summary lists every file that arrived. A self-hosted hub copies its backup archives to a bucket with weikio settings set --backup-copy-to s3://<bucket>/weikio, with the bucket's access key in the four RCLONE_S3_* lines of the stack's .env file.
Any S3 client works with a bucket, and a workspace and a Weik.io you install yourself reach it with the same S3 remote.
Backups and restore in the docs covers the backup schedule, the copies and a restore onto new servers.
Where it runs
- Buckets
- Hetzner's Helsinki data centre park in Finland, which is ISO/IEC 27001 certified
- Your objects
- Covered by the data processing agreement that comes with the order
Questions
Can my self-hosted Weik.io back up here?
Yes, set the bucket as the hub's backup copy target with weikio settings set --backup-copy-to s3://<bucket>/weikio, and the hub copies each archive there after it is taken.
What does Object Lock do to a copy?
It keeps the copy from being deleted or overwritten before its retention ends, by any key, including yours.
Can a transfer write to a bucket of another workspace?
Yes, with an access key of that bucket in an S3 remote. Each bucket has keys of its own.
Create a bucket
The console creates the bucket with its access key and shows the S3 address for your transfers and backups.
